Train For The Person You Want To Become

Be honest: Do you ever think about your training as a way to "fix" where you're at right now?

That mindset is incredibly common. Training becomes about correcting flaws, chasing a number on the scale, or trying to undo a chaotic season of life. It’s easy to view workouts as a temporary solution - something you'll do until you lose the weight, until you like the way you look, etc.

But when training is rooted only in fixing what’s wrong, it’s fragile.

So if you want to reinforce the stability of your fitness routine, you might need to change the way you think about it. Instead of training to "fix" something, what if you started training for the person you want to become?

Want to be kicking the ball around with your kid when they get selected for the high school soccer team? Then we should train for that.

Want to get better at skiing so your weekend getaways involve more play and less time recovering after? Then we should train for that!

Want to improve your balance and coordination so you can age gracefully and stay independent well into old age? Then let's train for it!

Now, we show up not because every workout feels exciting, but because we're investing in our future, and building trust within ourselves along the way.

This mindset shift can make a huge impact, especially on the days when motivation is low. Because when your goal is bigger than today’s mood, you keep showing up anyway.

So on the days your momentum fades and you catch yourself treating your body like a problem to solve, remind yourself: You are training to build the life you want to keep saying yes to.
