As We Head Into 2026...
The New Year has a funny way of turning up the volume.
New year, new me means...
The perfect routine.
The perfect nutrition.
And perfectly consistency. All day, every day.And while that idea of perfection can start off feeling motivating, it also means a lot of pressure. Pressure to get everything right. Pressure to not mess up. Pressure to prove that this year will be different.
But lasting results have never been built on perfection.
Results come from building on the good habits you already have. They come from showing up imperfectly, adjusting as you go, and building momentum one step at a time.
So this year, instead of assuming you need to change your life overnight, ask yourself: “How can I take a habit I already have, and improve it?”
Improving upon existing habits might look like...
Training twice every week, instead of a few weeks on, a few weeks off...Consuming one more well balanced meal each day...Prioritizing sleep throughout the week, not just on weekends...Listening to your body instead of fighting it.
None of those things are flashy. None of them will be easy. But most importantly, none of them require perfection.
The people who have the most success in the New Year aren’t the ones who never miss a workout or never veer off plan. But when they do, they don’t quit because things get messy. They course-correct instead of starting over.
So as you step into this new year, notice when you start to fall into the trap of "perfection, or nothing at all."
Instead, try to focus on building on the foundation you already have. Improve what’s already working. And trust that small, consistent progress will take you much further than perfection ever will.
