Awareness Is Your Superpower
Awareness precedes change.
Change doesn’t happen by accident.
If you want to move forward, you have to know where you’re starting from.
And that means being brutally honest with yourself about your current behaviors.
How often are you working out?
How much sleep are you getting?
How often are your food choices aligned with your goals?
How much time do you spend being reactive vs. intentional in your day?
These aren’t easy questions—but they are necessary ones.
Because you cannot change what you don't acknowledge.
Awareness is the foundation of action.
When you understand your habits, patterns, and defaults, you finally gain the power to choose differently.
No more guessing.
No more “I don’t know why this isn’t working.”
No more convincing yourself that you’re doing everything right, and the problem must be bad luck or bad genetics...
This is where behavior tracking comes in: To spot the gap between your intentions and your actions.
It could be tracking your workouts, your sleep, your food, your steps, your mood, your screen time—whatever is relevant to your goals. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being clear.
Because clarity leads to ownership. And when you have ownership of your habits, you’re in control of your outcomes.
So here’s the truth, and we hope it empowers you:
You are not stuck.
You are not a victim.
You are not “just someone who always falls off track.”
You have the power to change your life.
You are capable of choosing a new path.
You are strong enough to take ownership of your decisions, and learn and grow from them.
Awareness is your superpower. Use it.
ACTION ITEM
One of our favorite metrics to track is steps! We find this to be a hugely successful measure of energy output.
It's almost impossible to find a device that will accurately measure how many calories you burn in a day, but lots of devices measure your steps, which is going to take into account most (if not all) of your daily movement.
It's not just about exercise. In fact, more exercise usually isn't the best way to increase your daily energy expenditure.
But setting a step goal to increase your daily non-exercise movement is beneficial for everyone - no matter your fitness goals.
Don't have a watch, band or ring to track your steps? No problem! You can get a simple, cheap pedometer like this one from amazon to get you started.
